Harlaxton College

Originally known as the “Stanford of Britain” due to the fact that in its original days California’s own Stanford offered study abroad courses in its scenic Grantham, England, Harlaxton College has both a prestigious and bright past, present and future. Those attending Harlaxton College enjoy the best in location, education, and summation of what the college experience truly means.

Harlaxton College – England
Nestled in the market town of Grantham, Harlaxton College is located conveniently near both Lincoln as well as Nottingham. Both A1 and the River Witham border it. Travel to and from Grantham is convenient due to the East Coast Main Line being nearby. The lush rolling hills only further the attraction and beauty of the town.

Campus
What originally was Harlaxton Manor, which served as almost an education outpost for many universities throughout the world, became Harlaxton Study Centre in 1971. Soon rising to the forefront of education, after being bought by the University of Evansville, Indiana, Harlaxton Study Centre became Harlaxton College and its unique programs of travel and diversity round out students’ college experiences.

The formal gardens on the grounds are beautiful, filled with such treasures as a Dutch canal and English landscape walks. There are also two locations for students to eat on campus, The Refectory and The Bistro. The Bistro is a known gathering place for students to share poems, music, and a drink while enjoying campus life. In addition, students may wish to spend time at the Library, which has state of the art online research resources and over 22,000 volumes.
